hi :)
this is my first painting using gouache. i love disney but surprisingly this is my first disney based/inspired painting. i have never used gouache before but have seen so many people use it before so i wanted to try it out. i love how you can make it look like both watercolour and acrylics so you can see a mix of that in the painting. the reference photo i used doesn't have much shading on ariel herself, but i tried to add some anyways. i was never that good with shading so it may look a little bit weird in some places. you might have also noticed that there is a droop in the bottom right corner, the washi tape i used on the edges wasn't straight and sadly i noticed too late 😂
I also made the dumb mistake of tracing the outlines too early, so some lines that were in the reference photo may be missing, and you may see some pencil lines.
