Heyoo hope everyone is doing well! I wrote this like 2 days ago but realised I never pressed publish :')
So this month's theme was trying to work with something new and so since I’ve done loads of work with ceramic, I decided to try out air dry clay.
This is Ribbit the frog, he is a original character in a lot of my artwork (like my pfp). To my surprise, the air dry clay was actually harder to work with because it was quite stiff and dried easily. But on the bright side, it doesn’t need to go in a kiln so I can be way more adventurous with my sculpting (creating texture, using wire, making thinner, smaller, more fragile details)
It was quite tedious though as I really needed to wait for the clay to dry, so most of the time spent was just waiting time. But it was super worth it! Cause once it dried, the colours came out super beautiful when I painted, (wet clay just eats up all my paint and leaves it blotchy)
Hi! This looks amazing, I'm astonished by how you got Ribbit the frog to not fall. The theme is so adorable and love the mushrooms and the bright flowers! The glitter trail path is so pretty and gives a magical, fairytale-like touch which I love. The pine-like shade of green suits and compliments Ribbit the frog since they're a much light shade of green which I think was a great decision. I, of course, love the little smile on Ribbit! I think a few more smaller flowers or more details on the grass might be a nice addition as well. Overall, it is so well done and I would have never guessed that it was only your first time using air dry clay!
