Hi! Anyways, this is some art i did for some OC's of mine. I've been trying to do more fully renddered and finished project recently, as well as add and improve on my background, cause before this, I'ld just give charcaters patterns or blurred out lines for backgrounds😅. I'm open to critique on the lighting and/or backgrounds, though, so any advice is appreciated!

These look so cool!! I really love how dynamic the first two are - your use of colour and value in them is especially nice (the gradient of value is eye-catching in the 2nd). I try to avoid doing backgrounds most of time so this is kinda inspiring me to try to step up my game🤧. One suggestion I have is to alter the hue/lighting on the characters to make them more in line with the hues of the background like in the first one - for example the 3rd one you could make the tone of the characters slightly more purple to match the environment (which is really pretty btw) - it makes the piece more cohesive and more realistic since light bounces off other objects
In the 4th piece, the lighting could be a bit more clear - I see you used a light blueish colour to shade parts of the character, but the light in the background is yellowish from the sky, so the light should be more yellow while the shadows more blueish. I would also suggest using more defined shapes when adding light and clearly finding where the light source is (could be behind, in front, above, below, or to the side) so that the painting's lighting looks more consistent. You could also add a shadow. But, overall I really like the emotion of the colours you used in it (it feels very youthful🐱) and the texture used for the grass which is good to experiment with since it makes the backgrounds more interesting
Well Done :D
(Sorry for any spelling/grammar errors - I'm writing this at like 1 am)
