This was my piece for the Van Gogh theme :) Sorry it was a pretty quick one (~1 hour) and an experiment with my acrylic markers so it's no where near perfect, but I was attempting a mix of surrealism and Van Gogh's impressionism ! Unfortunately with this visible brushwork style you can't really mix colours of paint pens, but I've tried my best :')

This is beautiful Shaoey! I honestly thought you'd uploaded one of Van Gogh's own paintings :) I particularly love how the swirls form an eye in the middle. It's cool that you experimented with a new medium as well!
I painted a sea turtle using a watercolor style with small shapes to create texture on its shell and flippers. The blue splashes around it represent the ocean and give a sense of movement. I chose a turtle because it represents calmness and strength, and I wanted the piece to feel peaceful.

I love how you've combined a mosaic style with watercolour paints here Miku. I would perhaps suggest emphasising the dispersion of the blue splashes surrounding the painting if you wanted to develop your idea of motion/the sea, but I also love how there's such a big contrast between the background and the turtle. Well done!

More than enough colour! Some of the shades you've used are quite pale and similar to pastels, so I can understand your question, but the lighter shades work really well for the background. They also provide a nice contrast to the darker greens and black lineart which draws focus to the subject of your piece. Well done!
This is beautiful, Sophia! I honestly don't think I can see anything you'd be able to improve on, except that perhaps the head is slightly too big for the body---although I do also love how that emphasises the face. The expression in the eye is stunning :)
