December Theme: Childhood Memories

Hi, I just wanted to share this work as it's one of the themes for this month. I used ink, colour pencils and oil pastels. I'd love to hear any things I can do to improve! Its a bit experimental as of with the child-like drawing of the background.

November Theme submission

Hello everyone!

I thought id share this piece i made based on the complimentry colours theme! I painted the background on paper with gouche and then scanned it into a drawing software to add the deer (I use clip studio). I use this technique a lot for starting digital drawings because I can't sketch digitally to save my life ๐Ÿ˜ญ

September Monthly Submission

For my monthly submission I chose the theme of loneliness, and attempted to use procreate to encapsulate what that feeling is. It was also an experiment for me to try out the different tools in procreate (such as the different adjustment things, blending modes etc).

The dark atmosphere of the piece is really interesting and nicely executed! I think the texture-like background really adds to the grungy look and the meaning (it sort of looks like the person is lost in the darkness of their loneliness - like in a forest at night)

So i chose to do Reflections. THis might not fit the theme that well but I had a vision and couldn't stop myself. Some art of one of my OC's, I realise once I finished everything, the proportions turned out slightly wonky, but whatever. This was lots of fun to do though:),

I really love the composition here!!!! The main character really stands out because you balanced the light and dark very nicely. Furthermore the colour look great together. My only suggestion might be to increase the opacity of the reflection as, from a glance, the reflection is a bit difficult to see. I also might suggest shifting the reflection slightly to the left possibly as it could make the piece a bit more balanced and add to the juxtaposition between the main character and the person that is reflected :D
